UK Premiere: Hearts Without Homes Shines a Light on Stories Too Often Ignored

The Breaking-TV Film Festival 2025 is proud to host the UK premiere of Hearts Without Homes, an intimate and deeply moving documentary by Donna Paula Taylor and Neil Simpson, screening this October at the CEME Conference Centre, Rainham, London.

Set against the hidden corners of bustling streets, Hearts Without Homes gives voice to the homeless—individuals so often overlooked by society yet carrying profound stories of resilience, struggle, and hope. The film challenges audiences to move beyond stereotypes and labels, opening their eyes to the humanity, talent, and strength of those living without shelter.

Narrated by Shane Richie (Eastenders), the documentary offers a raw yet compassionate portrayal of life on the margins. Through candid conversations and creative storytelling, it captures both the harsh realities of homelessness and the unyielding determination of those striving for a better tomorrow.

For director Donna Paula Taylor, this film is not just a project but a deeply personal mission. Having witnessed friends and family members face homelessness tragically losing one to the streets… Taylor has infused the film with empathy and authenticity. Her filmmaking has consistently tackled pressing social issues, with previous works including Finding My Voice and upcoming project Wonder Out of Chaos, featuring Dame Judi Dench, Simon Callow, Kenneth Branagh, and Sir Derek Jacobi.

Co-directed and produced with Neil Simpson, and co-written with Gary Kittle, Hearts Without Homes exemplifies a storytelling approach rooted in trust, honesty, and respect.
